Terms of use
Short, and in plain English. Using GK Health means you agree to these.
What GK Health is
A food diary for iPhone and iPad that you talk to. It records what you tell it, estimates calories and nutrients, reads nutrition labels from photos, tracks fasting windows and works with Apple Health.
It is not medical advice. Estimates are estimates - a plate photographed from one angle, a portion you described in words - and the figures the app gives are for tracking, not for clinical decisions. Speak to your GP or a registered dietitian before making big changes to how you eat, especially if you are pregnant, diabetic, taking medication that depends on your diet, or have had an eating disorder. GK Health is not for anyone under 16.
Your account
- You need an account (email and password, or Sign in with Apple). Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
- One account is for one person. The diary learns you, and it cannot learn two people at once.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. See the privacy policy for what happens then.
Subscription and free trial
- Every new account gets seven days free from the day it is created. After that the AI chat - estimating, reading labels, answering questions - needs a subscription: £10 a month or £100 a year, bought through the App Store. Prices include VAT and may differ in other countries; the App Store shows the price before you confirm.
- Your diary, photos, Apple Health sync and export keep working without a subscription. Only the AI turns stop.
- Subscriptions are billed by Apple to your Apple ID and renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next charge; the current period runs to its end.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms; we cannot issue them ourselves.
- The AI has a weekly allowance generous enough for heavy daily use. It exists to stop abuse, not to meter normal tracking; the app tells you if you reach it and when it resets.
Fair use
Don't use GK Health to break the law, to attack the service, to scrape it, or to send it content that isn't yours to send. Don't try to get round the allowance or the subscription. We may suspend an account that does.
Our responsibilities and their limits
- We will run the service with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires, and keep your data as the privacy policy says.
- We do not promise the service will be available every minute or that every estimate is right. Where the law allows, we are not liable for losses from relying on an estimate, from the service being unavailable, or for any indirect loss. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
- If something is wrong, tell us at support@gk.tools and we will put it right where we can.
Changes and ending
We may change these terms or the service; if a change matters to you we will tell you in the app first, and you can cancel. You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may close an account that breaks these terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction - without taking away any protection you have under the law of the country you live in.
